"IF A STING WORE A DRESS I'D MARRY ONE" |
|
|
"If a Sting wore a dress, I'd marry one.." is only
one of the many comments we have received about the wonderful Sting
aircraft. We have recently completed our trip to Europe, the main focus of
which was to train and prepare Aero Sport from Cape Town on product detail,
thus preparing ourselves to fully support our brand-new customer base.
Secondly, we obtained exclusive agency rights to the incredible
Woodcomp range of
propellors, so incredibly far ahead of the pack. Microlight propellers with
reverse thrust are only one of the many features of these super-efficient
and extremely well manufactured propellors. Then lastly we really could not
hide our enthusiasm to testfly the new
STING RT RETRACTABLE |
| We test-flew the Sting RT and Star Models during our visit to the
factory in the Czech Republic. Here is our story ........ First, in the factory where they are busy assembling the Sting RT. Really amazing, the attention to detail, the switches with the three red and three green lights, the manual backup system and then the warning system which activates when you use flaps and the landing gear is still retracted. What is more, the retractable gear even looks stronger than the fixed undercarriage! We were all very impressed. Then, eventually, the time that we have been waiting for had arrived. The Sting RT is getting prepared for Jiri's test flight. Jiri checks the engine and disapear off the taxi way. Emmie, Louis and myself quickly ran toward the runway in anticipation, only to see the Sting RT gliding very low over the runway!! What a sight, low over the runway with the wheels in, this is what an aircraft in flight should look like, you don't see a bird flying with its legs hanging down? In front of us and above us Jiri puts the Sting RT through its paces! Then, my turn to fly. Feeling very nostalgic getting into a Sting again, line up, open throttle, pushed back in the seat, in no time off the ground brakes on and then -- wheels up!, what an experience, a microlight, wheels up? And there we go, the increase in speed due to the decrease in drag, well the Sting is FAST! All to soon back, wheels out, green lights on, flaps out, almost to easy, back on the ground. An unreal design, exceptional performance with looks most designers would envy, the STING RT 2000. |
|
| Our next two Sting ultralights will arrive in South Africa at the end of October. Then again, another two aircraft will arrive during the middle of December and then yet again, another shipment will arrive in February 2004. How exciting is that.!!!!!!! |

Easily one of the most advanced propellors on the market available to microlights. Its new Reverse Thrust capability and Constant Speed units, combined with its very unique manufacturing process and yet competitive pricing makes for only some of the reasons why we have negotiated our exclusive agensive agreement with Woodcomp | |
